Houston Rockets returned to home court after their loss to Charlotte Bobcats, and will face Oklahoma City Thunders. This is the first leg of a back-to-back. They will travel to Dallas to play with the Dallas Mavericks the very next day.

This is the 2nd time the 2 teams met in this season. When Houston Rockets visited Oklahoma City middle of this month, they were soundly beaten 116 ~ 99.

The 2 teams had completely different fortune and reverse results this season. Oklahoma City Thunders is currently 11W 5L, and is going on a winning streak of 5 while playing away. They ranked second in the Northwest Division and #6 in the Western Conference.

Houston Rockets is currently struggling with a lowly 4W 11L, rock bottom of the Southwest Division, and #12 in the Western Conference.

In order to win this game, Houston Rockets need to play tough defense on Kevin Durant who is the leading scorer of the league with 28.1 ppg, and cut off their blood supplying point guard Russell Westbrook, who is doing very well in this early season, scoring 23.8 ppg and dishing 8.3 apg.

It is going to be tough during this stretch that both Aaron Brooks and Yao Ming were still sidelined, but the Rockets need to step up to the challenge and strive to win.

GO GO GO ROCKETS to stop the bleeding.

Nice start for the Houston Rockets in the 1Q.

They out-scored, out-rebounded and out-assisted the Oklahoma City Thunders, and had fewer turnovers in 1Q to carve out a 8-point lead. 33 ~ 25.

Hope they keep up the momentum in the 2Q, and the rest of this game for a much-needed win.

1H ended.

Both team played to a stand still in 2Q. 17 ~ 17.

So Houston Rockets still lead by 8 points.

50 ~ 42.

Big Yao was seen here joining the team in the pre-game warm-up and shoot-around, and signing autographs for fans.

According to reports on the Chinese websites, he was practicing his mid range shots; it looks like he is still keeping his shooting touch and feel. He made consecutively 7 shots; missed the next; and then made another 5 shots consecutively.

When asked to give a latest update on the bone bruise on his left ankle, he said he's feeling much better now. It's no longer swollen, and he's not feeling any pain anymore.

He said he had also shredded a few more pounds, but he still needed to work harder on his conditioning.

When asked when he can return to court, he said there is still no time table for his return.

9:03 HOU Kyle Lowry makes a 27-foot three-pointer from the right wing. Assist: Shane Battier

Houston Rockets made the same kind of mistakes in early 3Q to lose their lead to the Oklahoma City Thunders in just 3 minutes.

The lead was down to 2 points.

Luckily Kyle Lowry stepped up and scored a 3-pointer to sort of stop the bleeding, and gave the Rockets some breathing space.

57 ~ 52.

7:05 OKC Russell Westbrook makes an 11-foot jumper in the lane
6:34 HOU Kevin Martin makes a 21-foot pullup jumper from the right wing. Assist: Luis Scola
6:14 OKC Kevin Durant makes a 20-foot jumper from the left wing

Houston Rockets again played sloppy defense, and allowed Oklahoma City Thunders tons of space and shots to reduce the game to a 1-point game.

The FG% of Oklahoma City Thunders improved from 41 FG% by half time to 49 FG% now.

61 ~ 60.

5:26 OKC Jeff Green makes a 26-foot three-pointer from the right wing. Assist: Russell Westbrook
5:05 HOU Shane Battier makes a 22-foot three-pointer from the left corner. Assist: Kevin Martin

Shane Battier !!! His 3-pointer just cancelled out the one by Jeff Green, and Houston Rockets regained the 1-point lead. 64 ~ 63.

3Q ended. 77 ~ 71. A 6 point lead for Houston Rockets.

The Houston Rockets lost their momentum in early 3Q, and both team exchanged leads, until Rockets surged to take over the lead again towards end of 3Q.

Still living dangerously with that kind of slender lead.

4:32 HOU Layup by Kyle Lowry

Less than 5 minuts to go.

93 ~ 84, a 9-point lead.

Is this safe enough for a win???

2:07 HOU Shooting foul on Brad Miller
2:07 OKC Russell Westbrook misses the first free throw
2:07 OKC Russell Westbrook misses the second free throw

A little bit over 2 minutes to go.

The game is STILL TOO CLOSE to be comfortable.

97 ~ 92.
