Dalmanca

You need to re-edit to change the subject title to Yao's Fans and not Funs.

YUP.... just like here on YMM we also have different 姚黑 Yao Haters and 姚蜜 Yao's Fans.

I think 姚黑 is different from Yao haters. They are more critical to Yao's technical side of the game. Not someone will bash Yao after one game's loss. Just they have high standards for someone they can admire.

Hei is phonetically same as Hate, and literally means black...which in this case mo hei 抹黑, meaning bad-mouthing and misrepresenting !!!

In fact, in the sohu article, the writer gave a definition of Yao Hei 姚黑 in the first sentence .... and that is people that do not like Yao Ming !!!

You may teach me some more Chinese.... :) The first sentence only say they don't like Yao, not haters. Lots of people don't like Yao from simply technical side. The article refers 姚黑 to these people. They probably will never come to Yao fun's website after all. The haters from here will bash Yao from every aspect. They are really Yao haters. Criticizing Yao from technical side can only help him while Yao haters are only negative.
