Don't worry, I don't think AS has a chance against our YM.

Just looking at the statistic, YAO won't loss to AS.

Then we should talking about impact to the league, to the team, skills, future potential, the difficulty of transition YM faced, and the postion YM played. No way YM is not ROY. Everybody sees that, and that is why SUNS needs to do some lobby, because they know they have no chance.

Case closed.

Rockets had that "Time is Yao" feature for a long time.

notcool is right. SUNS has started their lobby and Rockets has not.

One thing about the Rockets' compaign of Yao is that nowhere in their vidoes or articles or quotes do they try to make any comparative references to Amare Stoudamare. In fact, many of the Rockets players and coaches are quoted giving respect to Amare, even Yao. Amare, on the otherhand, never says anything about Yao, doesn't give respect where respect is due, as well as his coaching staff, and teammates. The Suns flyer and video is so self-consciously antagonistic towards Yao that it taints the accomplishments of Amare and makes him look almost desparate for the award. Yao, I'm sure, wants the ROY award, but he's focused on things beyond it, and things beyond himself, and THAT merits the ultimate respect and portends the tidings of a true champion.

What I like about the Rockets' compaign of Yao is that it doesn't really seem like a ROY of the year compaign at all. It's just stating genuine appreciation and pride in a good player, and tries to avoid heavy bias. Even on the Yao-O-Meter, when Yao has bad games, they admit it. They give the stats. Whereas, "THAT'S AMARE" only gives you the details on his good games. There is no "we want to really get the ROY award" complex about the Rockets page, whereas that's all you can feel in the "Thats Amare" page.

Pathetic. Regardless of who gets it. Real pathetic on the Suns part. If they were truly confident in the achievements of their star rookie, they wouldn't have to make such a "He's better than Yao" conscious compaign.

Well, that's all fine and dandy if Yao is better than Amare on paper.

Sometimes the perception of something can be more powerful than the "raw facts". This is America after all... one just has to look at the media, hollywood, and politicians in this country to understand that perception is everything.

hehe. i have to agree with dodofreak. it's the power dunks, the "who's your daddy" attitude that gets all the attention. no one really remembers a couple of silky jumpers and hooks. sad to say but especially in the nba, perception is everything.

You people should really send a message to Rockets management to urge them to lobby for Yao as ROY. How should we start it? What is Rocket's address?

then how do you explain that Yao won the ROY polls on EXPN.com, Foxsport.net and CBSportline.

Anyway, the NBA Coaches and selected sports writers vote on ROY. They all know a little about BB---relying heavily on the"raw facts" :!: :!: :!:

Basketball is a game sports. Rox is the last 4 teams last year and now they still have the playoff chance. The difference is Yao. If Yao is a little bit more selfish, he certainly can be much better in the stats. So the people who vote for ROY should consider that as well.

BTW, who will vote for that anyway?
