I can dunk a volley ball. It's pretty funny how I could touch the rim by the end of middle school at a bit under 5'8. I guess I haven't improved my hops much. Nowadays, it's all about the handles and playing the point for me.

I am 5'9" and can touch the rim, which is like 3 more inches from being able to dunk.

if you want to dunk it you should get JUMPSOLES and train on them they really work.

At 6'1" I could touch the rim in my youth. Now at 54 and 60 pounds overweight I can barely touch the net.

One on one I can still beat both my sons, in their early twenties, and most of their friends - a sorry comment on the state of American youth.

How tall are you?

P.S.: I hope the 50 lbs. you gained are all muscle.

I wish it was dude. I went away to college and stopped playing as much. I started eating a lot of fast food so now I'm a lot heavier. Just a warning to you kids. I used to eat a ton and never gained weight, but as you get older you can't eat like that and expect to stay thin.

Man.. that is basically the same thing as me! I was 125 pounds and 6 ft. tall in HS, ran x-country,track, and played bball... could dunk the ball after warming up... grab the rim with both hands, etc.... i dunked my first ball at age 16.

Then college came.. i gained 50 pounds... and could only get a few fingers to touch the rim... so sad....now post-college i gained another 15 pounds... and can barely touch the rim... when i'm fully warmed up and my ankle isn't acting up.... so sad. Moral of the story: keep your weight down and you can jump!
