Looks like Beijing Ducks are visiting the Bay Area as a reward for wining the CBA title. They are practicing at Stanford and will be playing 4 exhibition games against the Olympic Cub Basketball team in San Francisco.

NOT TOO SURE ABOUT THAT.

Stephon Marbury is currently back in New York.

He may fly to West Coast to see his team,
but DEFINITELY he won't be playing, as he is still recuperating/rehabilitating from his toe surgery take back in June.

Beijing Ducks lost their first game to the Olympic Club team, 116-107. The team owner was so mad that he threatened to fly in Marbury and the other starter.

They canceled the 3rd and 4th games, but the next game is tomorrow, at 10AM.

Another ambrasssing loss for the Beijing Ducks against the Olympic Club team of amateurs. The OC team lead the whole way, as high as 20 points, but ended up winning 100-95.

Marbury was sitting on the sideline watching. Chinese team had 13 players in uniform vs OC team of 8 players dressed. The Chinese squad had no ex-pats and was thoroughly out played and out hustled. They had a few simple screen plays with no imagination. I'm surprised that they are CBA champs. I guess the level of basketball in China leaves a lot to be desired. How could champions of a pro league lost to a club team full of no names white guys? Laughing

The Beijing Ducks are not playing to their full potential, due to their current vacation.

Let's put it this way, they are all white guys who probably played at Div 2 college levels. The OC team were gathered last minute due to it being their off season and not everyone is in town. They only had 8 players avaiable, that means 3 on the bench. Somehow, they managed to beat not once but twice, the Beijing Ducks who had 13 players. That just to show you the big gap between Chinese Basketball and the US.

This wasn't a friendly because the Ducks coaches were constantly complaining about calls or non-calls by the American refs. Especially, one Chinese lady on the bench, not sure who she was, but she spoke English to the refs.

That's almost depressing. And this is the same team that beat Guangdong where most of CNT comes from.

Well Coach Min Lulei is ALWAYS THAT SERIOUS. Razz

Anyway, Beijing Jinyu Capital Steel Ducks did not bring their A team.

Out of the 14 players they brought to USA, 4 of them were from the junior team without CBA experience.

CBA Final MVP Lee Hseuh-lin (from Taiwan) and Zhai Xiaochuan were not with the team, and so are Stephon Marbury and Randolph Morris.

YEAH.....without Stephon Marbury and Lee Hseuh-lin, you can say this Beijing Duck is lame 跛脚鸭 !!!
Razz Laughing Very Happy
