So the 2010/11 All Stars Weekend is history. The league resumes its remaining schedule, the unofficial second half of the season.
Houston Rockets will face Detroit Pistons away in Detroit.
Detroit Pistons is currently ranked 11th in the Eastern Conference with a 21W 36L record. They barely beat Indiana Pacers prior to the All Stars Break to avoid losing 5 consecutive games at home. They had lost 6 in the last 10 games.
Contrary to the Pistons, Houston Rockets lost 114 ~ 105 to Philadelphia 76ers at home due to poor execution in 4Q, and slack and porous defense, allowing the 76ers to score above 55% FG%.
The Rockets currently ranked 12th in the Western Conference (26W 31L) is 5 games apart from the #8 spot. They had relegated to be one of the worst defensive clubs in the league, allowing an average of 104.9 points. They are 6-23 when surrendering at least 105;
They may have better luck against Pistons as Pistons is one of the worst offensive which managed to score an average of 95 points per game.
GO GO GO ROCKETS !!! GO FOR A BRIGHT START TO THE REMAINING HALF OF THE SEASON. |

The game is now in 4Q.
A 7 ~ 2 run by the Detroit Pistons to take over the lead....82 ~ 80.
It could be the All Stars Break effect.
The Rockets starters seemed not playing with energy, intensity and urgency; they played bad in 1Q, falling behind by 8 points. 20 ~ 28.
The bench sort of provided the sparks, and the Rockets managed to climb out of the hole by half time. 51 ~ 51.
The Rockets managed to take a 3 point lead (78 ~ 75) into 4Q.
But the Pistons now took over. |

Final Score: 108 ~ 100.
3 Rockets in double digits, but the scoring was so balanced that it could end up 10 Rockets in double digits if the Rockets had managed to shoot better.
Patrick Patterson is the top scorer with 20 points. Must be his first 20+ points scored.
Kevin Martin still struggling with his shooting slump. He was 4/12 FG% 1/3 3-pointer% but as usual still managed 16 points with 7/7 free throws.
Chase Budinger also bricked all night long. He was 3/8 FG% 0/3 3-pointer% 4/4 FT% for 10 points.
7 players scored 8 to 9 points; they included: Kyle Lowry, Aaron Brooks, Courtney Lee, and Brad Miller for 9 points, Chuck Hayes, Luis Scola and Shane Battier for 8 points. |
