can u imagine game-planning vs the Chinese team?

US coach: "allright, Der'Shawn, u'll be guarding Zhang-Chiu-Wei..here's the scouting report on him. He likes to stay in the low-block and prefers driving to his left. He can make the open 10ft jumper so close out on him. He's got a descent low-post game and he uses pump-fakes effectively...also watch out for his tiger-crane monkey fist and shadowless kick. When he goes into Wong-Fei position, that's a signal to defend urself."

Or maybe just follow the old game mantra of ball. Play tough, play with heart, but respect your opponents and respect the game. If you instigate or take exception to opponents' actions, this is the type of stuff that happens regardless. If you seriously think brawls or game conflicts are isolated to China, and I hope you dont; you need to get a reality check and see the world a lil more.

Following is what Wang Lei of the Bayi Rockets posted on his personal microblog on sina.com weibo.

Looks like those kids from Georgetown University were the ones that drew the first blood.

You don't p!$$ on others' territories
with insulting acts like extending your middle finger after you fouled or tripped the other players with a malice to try to injure the others.

Translation

I want to ask some of our Chinese fellows what you will do if someone tries to bully you at home? Maybe you still try to treat them like guests! But I just can't. What they had done on the court last night were serious breach of ethics in sport, and it was so obvious that they wanted to bully us; they did alot of malicious moves to try to injure us, yet they laughed, they celebrated and even gave their middle fingers to us and the audience. We just can't tolerate this. Well, let bygones be bygones! And you can continue to treat these rogues as guests !!!

Part of the problem is that Americans are taught to be extra rough on Asian Ballers. Every scouting report says to hard foul and be physical vs Chinese players.

In other words, if you play dirty vs Chinese they give up instead of causing an incident.

An effective way to stop bullying is to give the bully a black eye. A few fights is a good thing.

Personally think the Bayi Rockets players will be internally disciplined and punished for this all-out brawl with the Hoyas.

I guess the authority had been angry about the brawl, cos it was supposedly a friendly, and it was during the China visit of the US Vice President Joe Biden. And the officials must have thought it brought shame to the People's Liberation Army and the country, and might even impair the Sino ~ US relationship.

Therefore, afterwards, all news about the brawl (reports and photos) were censored and deleted from major sports websites of sina.com, sohu.com, qq.com, 163.com, tom.com.

And today, according to a vice minister of Ministry of Foreign Affairs (notice that the matter had been raised to a diplomatic level), officials and player representatives of Bayi Rockets went out to the Beijing Capital International Airport to send off the Georgetown University delegation to Shanghai, and said that Bayi Rockets had apologized and both sides had exchanged sovenirs and reconciled, and both sides look forward to the rematch on the 21st in Shanghai.

But then in the afternoon, according to John Thompson III, head coach of the Hoyas, the rematch in Shanghai with Bayi Rockets will be cancelled. Instead, the Hoyas will play Liaoning Panpan Hunters.

So we won't have chance to see another brawl or whether Bayi Rockets can beat the Hoyas fair and square on the court. :P

no but I can imagine nig1's trolling game-planning vs YMM

Nig's inner voice: "allright nig1 we'll closely monitor YMM and the American wire sources carefully for weeks on end lurking in the background coz we have nothing better to do with our lives. we like to troll like a noob and mispel easy words like decent and alright. as soon as we see anything that says anything negative about China or Yao we'll jump on there and post something to troll pryuen. especially good is anything racist or stereotypical, something that an average 90 IQ American could relate to and which requires no critical thinking or educated knowledge of China, the world or anything outside of the 50 mile radius of Houston. as soon as we get owned we'll flail around for another 5-6 posts then disappear for another couple weeks. wait for the signal to pwn urself"

it's two things. first of all black players assume asian ballplayers are soft. Chris Rock has a bit in his old routine that talks about that line, that if you cross you know the other man is going to punch you in the face. black guys through ignorance/racism/lack of perceptive acuity either think there's no line to cross on an asian dude or are clueless where that line is. you see that a lot in sports, even in supposedly cordial situations like rec leagues or "soft sports" where black or white dudes play aggressively on an asian or are especially mouthy. remember this kid?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6hj9JrH ... re=related

second, that particular racism is actually institutionalized. not only towards asians but on white players like Dirk and they're literally taught to "play physical" to take them out of their game.

dealing with that is part of learning how to play sports. I mean is fighting on the court a good way of dealing with it? No. To be a competent player (or really a man at all in the US) one of the first things you have to learn is how to send a message in-game early on so that when you're challenged they understand there's that line.

part of the problem here is that Chinese guys have no clue how to draw that line. I've seen this in the real world with older Asian men... they sit there in a confrontation or negotiation stone faced taking crap repeatedly then finally blow up with righteous fury in the end, and everyone is there looking at him like the media is looking at the Chinese players: like they're the ones who broke decorum or overreacted.

in the real world though... who do black players fight like 99% of the time with? yeah... other black players. like Rick James... some of these black guys are line steppers. sometimes the only way to send a message is to bust a kid in the mouth. a lot of whites and asian just dont want to go there... that's why even in the NBA you have guys like Garnett or Jordan who'll feel like they can punch a white player with impunity.

one thing is for sure, those Georgetown kids for the rest of their lives will think twice before manhandling Chinese ballplayers. in all though, the Chinese players involved in this incident are the ones most harmed.

Interesting...if that's true? I'd like to hear a few more sides of the story first..

But let's say it is. This is frankly why you don't want to invite Black people en masse into your society. Just watch all the vids here. Senseless mob violence simply becomes inevitable as soon as they reach a tipping point in numbers (which doesn't take very long).. They just tend to have zero respect for themselves, much less for their host society - and just tear everything down to shreds..

China needs to wise up and think twice about which Black ballers they allow to play in their country. :o
it's two things. first of all black players assume asian ballplayers are soft. Chris Rock has a bit in his old routine that talks about that line,
ur wrong, inner city blacks assume players not from the hood are soft. they assume all ballers from Duke are soft. the Blacks in Phillie have habitually bashed Donovan McNabb because he doesn't play black enough.

btw, Chris Rock is just one comedian, his comments are meant to be funny---not gospel as you would have people to believe.
second, that particular racism is actually institutionalized. not only towards asians but on white players like Dirk and they're literally taught to "play physical" to take them out of their game. i would call it disdain towards perceived softness. KG habitally try to intimidate player whom he perceives as soft, that included Dirk, Odom, Chandler, Durant, Grant Hill, Trajan Langdon, Grant Hill, Jason William (PG from Duke), etc. that backfired when Durant publically called KG a "phony tough guy"
dealing with that is part of learning how to play sports. I mean is fighting on the court a good way of dealing with it? No.

To be a competent player (or really a man at all in the US) one of the first things you have to learn is how to send a message in-game early on so that when you're challenged they understand there's that line. that i agree.
