Hard to believe Yao's vertical is only 27 inches. For Yao to jump 27 inches would be the equivalent to a person of average height jumping 18 inches. Even I could jump higher than 27 inches. And Yao's wingspan/reach isn't much greater than Yi's or Wang's. It's rare to find a person who's height is greater than reach. Yi's reach is 4 inches more than his height, and Wang's is 3 inches more.
Well it's well known to Chinese fans that
- Yao Ming's wingspan is shorter than his height.
- and Yao Ming's vertical leap had been SEVERELY impacted by the injury that he suffered TWICE on his left foot in 1997 and 1999 when he was still a CBA player. Insteads of seeking surgery, the Shanghai Sharks team doctor had adopted conservative treatment (i.e. under plastic plaster) and waited for the bones to heal.
Is that the same foot that he had multiple surgerys on and caused him to retire?
WHAT A DUMB QUESTION !!
How many feet one can have???
YEAH ....as Yao Ming recalled after his retirement, he thought those 2 injuries in 1997 and 99 had been the ORIGIN, CAUSE AND CULPRIT of the multiple injuries he had on his left foot later in his career, as it was NOT UNCOMMON at that time and up till now in CBA that players were asked to resume playing WITHOUT TOTALLY recovered or rehabilitated, which would cause further injuries.
In 1997 Yao was only 16 or 17. How did he get such a serious injury when he was so young? |

| Normal physical rules don't apply to freakishly tall athletic people. How did Livingston snap his own leg by jumping on perfectly flat wood court? |

Well Yao Ming did not play in CBA until 1998 when he was 18.
But in 1997, he was representing the junior team of Shanghai Sharks in a national youth invitational. and during a game with Guangdong, he was stepped on his left foot by a Guangdong player and broke bones in his left foot. |

All these bodyfat stats are not accurate. Yi is lean, but he's not at under 5% bodyfat. Looks more like 7-8% to me
Under 7% looks something like this
Anything under 5% looks like a drugged up Bodybuilder when he's entering show and is depleted of fluids, something they can only hold for a few days without health problems...and can't be done without drugs |

It shows and compares him with other players in the nba.
Height 7'
weight 246lbs
reach/wingspan 87.5 inches
body fat % 3.7
And it saids his vertical is 38 inches and can jump up and reach 13'1" Is this really true?
Cuz supposedly Dwight Howard set the new NBA "record" last year at 12'6"...1" more than Shaq's old record of 12'5"?
But Yi can blow them BOTH away by 7"-8"??? |

Personally think those data in Draft Express on Yi Jianlian were WRONG.
In most of the Chinese sports websites
- the standing reach of Yi Jianlian is 2.75M i.e. 9ft
- Jumping reach is 3.60M i.e. 11ft 9.7 inches
- Jumping reach with running is 3.70M i.e. 12 ft 1.7 inches.

That is why Yao Ming needs to reform the CBA so that his Shanghai players will receive appropriate treatments and have better future than Yao Ming himself. |
